Phison: PCIe Gen3x4 SSD Controller With NVMe Spec

Phison Electronics Corporation announced the availability of high speed Gen3x4 NVMe SSD controller, the PS5007-E7.

With 8-channel transfer speeds and 64CE support capable of up to 4TB capacity, PS5007-E7 is a solution for the gaming and high-end PC markets, and also a choice for enterprise servers and data center applications. The PS5007-E7 will be begin shipping on October of 2015.

PS5007-E7 supports 1Znm SLC/MLC/TLC as well as the latest 3D NAND. Working with 1Z MLC, it delivers speeds over 2,600MB/s sequential read and over 1,300MB/s sequential write, with random 4K up to 350,000 IO/s read and 250,000 IO/s write performance. The controller supports up to 2TB today and will expand to 4TB in the coming future. It supports NVMe L1 sub-state with less than 5mW in L1.2 low power mode, a key requirement for next generation notebook.

The company is a Taiwanese design-house to release a PCIe Gen3x4 NVMe controller to production. It develops hardware and firmware technology to elevate SSD performance and endurance. PS5007-E7 is built with end-to-end data path protection circuits and a SmartECC engine to ensure data integrity in high speed transfer. Utilizing firmware algorithms such as SmartFlush and an optional P-fail circuitry to prevent in-flight data loss from sudden power interruptions, as well as advanced security features compliant with TCG Opal 2.0 and TCG Enterprise standards driven with a 256b AES engine.
