Vinpower Europe Provides Alternative as Taiyo Yuden/JVC Stops Optical Disk Production

With the news that Taiyo Yuden, Co, Ltd. will stop the production of all lines of Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd. and JVC branded media after summer, where can one find a suitable alternative?

Vinpower Digital, Inc. developed the Plexdisc line, which is manufactured by Optodisc, Inc., to follow the quality standards and reliability that Taiyo Yuden pioneered when they developed the first recordable CD-R many years ago. The Taiyo Yuden and JVC brands have been the standard bearers for recordable CD-R and DVD±R for many years.

With the news that they will shut down production, it leaves a void in the market for reliable recordable media by end of this year. B
