Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Assigned Patent

Wire holder and wiring layers included in objective lens driving unit of optical disc drive

Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Korea Corporation, Suwon-si, Korea, has been assigned a patent (8,984,546) developed by Yun, Jae-kuon, Lee, Chan-ik, and Choi, Won-seok, Suwon-si, Korea, for a “wire holder and wiring layers included in an objective lens driving unit.”

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”Provided is an objective lens driving unit that prevents an electrical short circuit between very closely spaced second terminals in the objective lens driving unit. The objective lens driving unit is capable of being used in a slim-type optical disc drive.“

The patent application was filed on June 13, 2013 (13/916,709).
