He already worked at Big Blue from 1997 to 2001 following the acquisition of Mylex by IBM as VP of marketing and business line management.
He is also director of the board at Tarmin.
Before joining Violin, the storage veteran was SVP marcom at EMC from October 2010 to March 2014. Formerly he was VP marketing for Tarmin and occupied the same position at Asempra (acquired by BakBone Software). Note also that he worked for Maxtor (acquired by Seagate) in 2005 and 2006 as VP, product line management desktop and mobile storage, channel marketing, and marcom, and previously at ArioData, acquired by Xyratex, and Topio (acquired by NetApp).
