Swissbit CF Card With Eight Years of Longevity
Available from 32MB to 8GB, mass production in Q2
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 10, 2014 at 3:00 pmSwissbit AG presents the C-300 Longevity, a CompactFlash card with long-term availability through to at least 2021.
Its feature set, which includes an optimised random write speed and backward compatibility, makes it the choice for applications in the telecommunications and networking market, as well as applications requiring longevity due to time-consuming and cost-intensive re-qualification processes.
In addition to long-term availability, it offers a fixed BOM (bill of material) and an transition phase of at least 24 months between PCN/EOL notification and the last shipment. Customers can enjoy years of guaranteed supply without time-consuming re-qualification. With TRUE IDE and PC card modes, the card delivers backward compatibility to older systems, protocols and interfaces. It also features a random write speed of more than 150 KB/s.
The use of reliable SLC NAND flash technology plus integrated power fail safety guarantee data reliability. Thanks to its diagnostic functions, including detailed status information through the enhanced S.M.A.R.T. interface and the life time monitoring tool, the user is always aware of the card’s current status which helps eliminate unexpected downtime. Quality is guaranteed through selected materials and quality tests alongside high manufacturing standards. Customers hence benefit from a low TCO.
It is available in densities from 32MB up to 8GB and in both commercial (0°C-70°C) and industrial temperature range (-40°C-85°C).
Samples are already available for purchase; mass production is scheduled to begin within Q2/2014.
