IDrive Express for Sync Service
Free three times a year for Pro Business users, then $60
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 30, 2014 at 2:53 pmIDrive Inc. announced its IDrive Express for Sync service that uses a physical drive to ship large amounts of data to users’ cloud accounts in order to eliminate bandwidth usage, which slows upload speed, and provide faster data syncing capabilities.
The online, offsite backup provider is offering this service, free of charge to both business and personal accounts, to give users with high data volumes a faster way to sync their files. Once a user requests and receives an Express Sync drive (up to 3TB), they select the data from their devices to add to the drive and ship the physical drive back to IDrive where it is then transferred from the device to servers and can be accessed from the user’s cloud account.
Once transferred, users can sync files across all linked devices. The service is especially beneficial for users who are in need of getting terabytes of data to the cloud within 5-7 days, as this physical shipment and upload process is faster than syncing data across a regular internet connection.
“Currently, within the cloud sync community, there are no other companies offering a solution to users that focuses on syncing data to the cloud faster,” says Raghu Kulkarni, CEO, IDrive. “With the recent launch of our Sync functionality, we had users requesting that their data sync up faster, so we created Express Sync.“
Data remains safe throughout the transfer process, stored and encrypted with 256-bit AES encryption and the option for a private key. Currently available to customers in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Australia and the UK, the service is free, available once a year for Pro Personal users and three times a year for Pro Business users. Subsequent service requests will be subject to the $59.95 charge.
