X-IO at Gustavus Adolphus College
"100% performance" of ISE solution for past five years
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 22, 2014 at 2:54 pmX-IO Technologies (Xiotech Corporation) announced 100% performance of its ISE solution at Gustavus Adolphus College for the past five years, providing uninterrupted data availability for students and staff.
Gustavus Adolphus College moved to X-IO’s ISE solution in 2008 to keep up with the increasing amounts of data generated by more than 750 staff and 2,500-strong student network. As well as only taking an hour to implement, X-IO’s technology has proven to be reliable with no downtime and minimal maintenance.
Jessie Twaddle, associate director of core services, Gustavus Adolphus College, said: “We’ve been very happy with the performance of the X-IO boxes since we moved in 2008. Previously, we would have servers go down weekly and had to reboot the storage. Now it works 100% of the time.“
The availability and reliability of the college’s data infrastructure was a key part of the decision to implement X-IO. If anything were to go wrong with the system, the college’s classrooms would cease to operate, affecting the education of its students.
Blair Parkhill, marketing VP, X-IO, said: “Our storage solution needed to live up to the values of excellence and service that are the foundation of Gustavus Adolphus College. X-IO ISE is renowned for maintaining 100% performance even when at capacity, ensuring consistency and peace of mind for students and staff alike.“
