Ranajit Nevatia SVP Products and Marketing, Bitcasa

Bitcasa, Inc. announced the appointment of Ranajit Nevatia as SVP of products and marketing, and David Lai as VP of engineering.

The new hires will help accelerate expansion into new high-growth markets and categories, and will play a role building out the new vision for the company – which will be announced at TechCrunch Disrupt New York next week.

 With more than 20 years’ experience in enterprise storage and software, Ranajit Nevatia will play a critical role in building out product roadmap and marketing initiatives. Prior to Bitcasa, he was VP marketing at Panzura, where he built the marketing and inside sales program and led go-to-market product strategies. Previously, he was responsible for business strategy, cloud alliances, product management and marketing for Riverbed‘s cloud storage business unit bringing the company’s Whitewater and Granite products to market. Additionally, he has held leadership positions at Asempra, Veritas and Oracle.

 David Lai also brings more than 20 years’ experience in enterprise storage and software engineering, and will play a key role in developing Bitcasa’s Cloud Platform. Previously, he held an engineering position at Tropo, a phone and SMS app development platform. The veteran engineer also served as senior director of software engineering at EMC, and was director of engineering operations at Symantec before that. He has also held senior engineer positions at Librato, Veritas, Sybase, and Teradata.
