Serial Cables: Tool-Less, 12Gb SAS 8 Port Direct Attached Storage JBOD

Serial Cables, LLC, in storage testing,and connectivity, announces its Tool-less, 12Gbps SAS 8 port Direct Attached Storage JBOD, the SA-ENC12G-01B.

This 8-port JBOD features a Quarch  Technology Ltd.‘s designed SAS-3.0 compliant 12G backplane, an 80mm fan for air flow with malfunction alarm, specialized direct attach backplane cables, support for up to 32TB capacity (when using eight 4TB HDDs), up to 1,200MB/s throughput (when using 12Gb SAS SSDs) and a 300W auto-sensing power supply.

The SA-ENC12G-01B 8-port SAS/SATA JBOD includes specially designed and manufactured cables for directly attaching the SAS or SATA drives directly to the backplane; reducing noise, EMI, and other potentially harmful signaling connection issues.

The tool-less design allows the user the ability to engage/plug or disengage/unplug any thickness 2.5″ HDD or SSD making this a test bench solution. This JBOD is also available with an optional 19″ rack mount tray which engages 2, SA-ENC12G-01B JBOD’s in a 2U height configuration holding sixteen 2.5″ drives.

It is targeted for at test environment that requires users to not have to spend time and effort on screwing drives into trays and keeping track of different adapters for different thicknesses of devices.
