New Blancco VMware vCloud Eraser

To help enterprises and cloud computing service providers achieve tighter data security, Blancco Oy Ltd. has introduced Blancco vCloud Eraser.

The software provides erasure and auditable reporting capabilities for virtualized data center environments that use the VMware vCloud Director tool.

Designed in conjunction with the VMware Technology Alliance Partner Program, it adds a dimension to vCloud Director’s security foundation. With integration and access through the vCloud director user interface, it destroys all data when a virtual server app is deleted and provides a report as proof.

“Standard forensic tools can recover data from deleted virtual servers, as can occur with physical servers, so full erasure is necessary for complete security,” said Markku Willgren, president, Blancco U.S. operations. “With reporting and auditing features, vCloud Eraser helps enterprises and cloud services customers comply with internal and external data privacy and destruction regulations, while also allowing cloud hosting providers to offer value-added services.”
