Infinio Accelerator In Public Beta (Price to Be $499/Socket)
Software-only NAS offload engine that works within vSphere to increase IO/s
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 2, 2013 at 2:48 pmInfinio Systems, Inc., inventor of downloadable storage performance, announced at VMworld 2013 the opening of its public beta program.
The company’s first product, Accelerator, is now available for beta testing by qualified customers.
Live demonstrations of the product were available at VMworld Solutions Exchange.
The company is also announcing the product’s pricing at $499 per socket (including the first year of maintenance) when it is available, in Q4 of this year. Because Infinio offers a software-only solution to what has traditionally been a hardware problem, this pricing compares favorably with SSD-dependent solutions from other vendors.
"We know that our price will be much lower than alternate solutions, but we’ve also put tremendous effort into making sure that Infinio Accelerator will save our customers’ time – a crucial consideration when adopting new technology," said Arun Agarwal, Infinio co-founder and CEO. "IT administrators have a big job to do, and we’re sensitive to the fact that they don’t have days or weeks to spend evaluating possible solutions. Our product can be downloaded, installed, and showing results in just 30 minutes. No new hardware, no reboots, no downtime, and even a one-click uninstall."
Infinio offers downloadable storage performance for NAS-backed virtual environments, separating the problem of storage performance from the issue of storage capacity. Accelerator provides the IO/s needed to support growing virtual environments and VDI, without the need for SSDs or other hardware.
