Quanta QCT: Cluster-in-a-Box Server Providing In-Chassis Shared Storage
Made for software developers, VARs and system integrators
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 30, 2013 at 3:01 pmSoftware developers, VARs and system integrators that want the performance and density of a Cluster-in-a-Box (CiB) server have a new choice.
Quanta QCT (company’s parent is Quanta Computer, Inc.), manufacturer of server, storage and network products for cloud-ready datacenters, announced the August availability of the STRATOS S810-X52LR Cluster-in-a-Box server.
The S810-X52LR ships without software. Software developers, VARs, and SIs can configure any server cluster on the S810-X52LR and enjoy the benefits of shared storage, cable management and space- and energy-saving design.
it is a 2U 2-node Cluster-in-a-Box server. Two server nodes are clustered via a GbE interconnection and share 12 disk drives in a 2U chassis. Each node is equipped with two Xeon processor E5-2600 product family and 16 DIMM slots.
The S810-X52LR is designed for applications that require a highly available cluster configuration. Its CiB and shared storage design simplify cable management and save rack space by eliminating the need for external shared storage. In addition, the shared infrastructure design provides power and cooling efficiency, as well as infrastructure investment savings.
Both nodes share the same in-chassis storage, offering space and complexity reductions compared to traditional clustered solutions that require external shared disk enclosures, numerous network cables and complex system configurations. Both nodes also share the same chassis, redundant power supplies and fan modules, which delivers energy and cooling efficiency, as well as infrastructure investment savings.
"Our customers asked for an ‘all-in-one’ product that delivers HA, density, performance and efficiency," said Mike Yang, GM, Quanta QCT. "The STRATOS S810-X52LR gives software developers, VARs and SIs a new tool to build clustered storage and server solutions that solve specific problems for their customers. This is what Quanta is known for: highly engineered products that are tailored to unique applications in the cloud-ready datacenter."
