Quarch
Technology
Ltd., in storage test automation, announced a programmable
power
supply
and
measurement
module,
designed to assist developers and integrators of disk drive
technology.
With the adoption of SSDs, the
market for disk drives has never been more competitive. The
combination of fledgling technology and over 60 SSD manufacturers to
choose from makes characterization and testing essential. Low power
consumption and high reliability, even during power supply
fluctuations or faults, are now metrics by which drives are judged.
The module is a solution to measure
power usage and test performance under virtually, any realistic power
supply scenario. The module programs voltage profiles
to margin, ramp or interrupt power to a disk drive or similar device.
Integrated measurement hardware
simultaneously samples voltage and current on each output channel to
provide power measurement and recording.
The module can be integrated into
existing test systems through its command line interface, or used
with the free graphical interface for manual control and analysis.
