As such, Mead will be responsible for building and leading the AutoVirt sales team in the continued development and expansion of the company’s worldwide sales efforts. He will join AutoVirt’s executive management team, reporting directly to Josh Klein, President and CEO.

AutoVirt also announced also that Mead has been named to Computer Reseller News‘ ‘100 People You Don’t Know, But Should.’ The listing serves as a roster of those that are "building and running channel programs, designing special incentives, educating and training solution providers and evangelizing hot technology. They are the unsung heroes who put in the elbow grease to make channel partnerships work." Mead was singled out for his, "Bringing new online training and certification programs to partners and investing in the tools and support needed to help boost partner profitability, all while tripling AutoVirt’s channel team within the past two months."

He is a sales executive with over 17 years of experience focusing on early stage, venture-backed technology companies. Most recently, Mead was the Vice President of North American Sales for Akorri Networks. He led sales turn around for Akorri which resulted in a profitable acquisition by Network Appliance in February 2011. He implemented a channel sales program, rebuilt the sales team and developed a sales process which resulted in a 350% increase in Akorri’s quarterly revenues.
Prior to joining Akorri, Mead was the National Sales Director at Virtual Iron Software. As the initial sales hire at Virtual Iron, He helped build and launch a sales model that drove over 3,000 customers and led to the acquisition by Oracle in June 2009. Prior to joining Virtual Iron, He spent six years building SpeechWorks (now Nuance) from its first customers to a $160M public company with the 12th most successful IPO of 2000.
Mead has also held sales positions at Open Development Corporation and Vicorp Interactive Systems, both early stage software companies that were acquired.
He attended Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY) and Leeds University (Leeds, England).
