Buffalo NAS V-Series LinkStation for Home and SMB

Buffalo Technology announced two NAS products that offer small or medium sized businesses high speed processing, data transfer and data protection functionality. Both the LinkStation Pro LS-VL and the new LinkStation Pro Duo – LS-WVL products are within the V-series LinkStations range.

     

LinkStation Pro LS-VL

The LinkStation Pro, which is available in 1TB and 2TB, is an update on its home and SMB’s network attached storage (NAS) device. Its single drive can be used as the central hub for all data files, images, photos, and video and audio content. It boasts a high-speed processor which produces much faster transfer speeds than the previous model, providing significantly increased performance, making file access a much smoother process for the users.

The LinkStation Pro Duo, available in 1TB and 2TB, is a new addition to the LinkStation V-series line and offers duel drives with additional RAID redundancy for data protection and user removable quick swap hard drives. Also with faster processing speeds, this makes it the device perfect for small and medium sized businesses wanting to store their data securely.

Both new LinkStation products possess features and a simple interface that increase usability, allowing  users to access and share data and multimedia from anywhere at any time from their NAS device using Buffalo’s recently released free WebAccess i app. The free app  allows users to easily stream digital content stored on any Buffalo network storage solution from anywhere in the world via their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.WebAccess i compliments Buffalo’s hugely successful existing online portal; BuffaloNAS, and the WebAccess feature, which allows users to access and store content on their Buffalo NAS device online.

Like all products in the LinkStation range the new V-series range offer additional features such as the Active directory feature, which imports user data from a server, potentially saving a huge amount of setup time as all user credentials are automatically replicated rather than needing to be manually added. Buffalo Tools offers valuable enhancements such as TurboPC and Turbo Copy which increase file transfer speed and copy performance by up to two times, compared to standard USB2.0 portable hard drives. Additionally, Buffalo Backup software offers a simplified solution for data backup and restoration. Both devices also offer the ability to stream audio and video content directly to a computer, PS3, Xbox 360 or network attached DLNA or UPnP media player – including the Buffalo LinkTheater.

The LinkStation Pro and LinkStation Pro Duo will be available from the middle of November from a range of resellers.
