Orbweb 4.0 Available on Thecus Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials NAS

Thecus Techonology Corp. announced availability of Orbweb.me 4.0, the latest version of the remote web access application available on company’s Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials NAS.

Orbweb.me provides media streaming, webcam monitoring, and allows users to view, edit and transfer files. With no IP address necessary, users will be able to remotely access files via web browser anytime, anywhere, all without the risk of uploading files from third-party servers.

Orbweb.me 4.0 further enhances the storage solution capabilities of company’s NAS with features including redesigned user interface, increased support for multimedia files, compatibility with Windows 10 as well as timeline view and snapshot for webcam monitoring.

Enhanced user experience
In addition to Windows 7 and 8, this version allows the use of multiple PCs with Windows 10 installed and supports multiple platforms including both iOS and Android devices. The interface offers an improved experience to users thanks to its totally revamped user interface for the mobile app and web client.

Enhanced multimedia support
Orbweb.me 4.0 provides increased audio, video, and image format support, (mkv, mpg, ogv, avi, ts, webm, flv, rmvb, mov, m2ts, wmv, and 4) giving users further flexibility to enjoy digital content. On the fly transcoding automatically adjusts resolution based on bandwidth and screen size delivering media streaming.

Webcam monitoring
Along with the motion detector and email notification features which were original on the previous version, Version 4.0 adds a timeline view and snapshot. Also, included is a one-click activation/deactivation icon allowing convenient control of webcam monitoring activities. All of this data is easily stored on the company’s NAS and accessible anytime, anywhere.
