CRU-DataPort Shipping ToughTech Duo 3SR Portable RAID
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on Thu, June 14th, 2012
Adding USB 3.0 and starting at $349
It works with two 2.5" notebook or SSDs and simplifies data redundancy by writing the same information in real time to both drives in RAID.
It distinguishes itself with its feature-packed, ruggedized, hand-sized chassis (measuring 6.3 x 3.5 x 1.4 inches, the unit weighs just over a pound and a half).
Features include an LCD menu to monitor drive health and configure RAID with intuitive, soft-touch navigation. The aluminum ToughTech Duo 3SR stays cool without fans, making the unit quiet.
Users can take advantage of the USB 3.0 interface option for fast transfer rates without sacrificing flexibility: the ToughTech Duo 3SR also has USB 2.0 or eSATA connections.
The unit comes with a multi-country AC power supply for international travel.
A standard Kensington Security Slot is integrated into the ToughTech Duo 3SR chassis, making it easy to add a lock for physical security.
Finger-swappable drives: trays make replacing drives in the ToughTech Duo easy and safe and instant. No tools required. Drives can be handed to colleagues, sent offsite or replaced with new capacity. Alternatively, the ToughTech Duo comes with screws so drives can be fastened down to withstand vibration and shock in extreme environments.
"Resource Magazine voted the original ToughTech Duo QR best in show for reliability at PPE 2011. With the increased speed of USB 3.0 and a lower price point, the ToughTech Duo 3SR is a no brainer for photographers looking for an affordable, transparently reliable, fast RAID back-up solution on location and in studio," said Adam Sherwin, Resource Magazine tech editor.
The secure storage solutions for digital workflow will be on display at ProFusion in Toronto, Canada June 19-20, 2012.
CRU-DataPort reduced the price of the intelligently built ToughTech Duo QR and is offering the ToughTech Duo 3SR through resellers starting at $349.00 MSRP.
