Le d2 Blu-ray enregistre, réécrit et lit les disques DVD±RW DL et CD±RW, BD-R (enregistrables) et BD-RE (réinscriptibles) de 25 ou 50 Go (Gigaoctets). Disposant d’une interface double FireWire 400 et USB 2.0, le d2 Blu-ray est livré avec le logiciel complet Roxio, comprenant Easy Media Creator pour Windows et Toast Titanium pour Mac. Easy Media Creator et Toast Titanium sont des applications de gravure simples d'utilisation qui permettent de sauvegarder régulièrement et rapidement les fichiers importants avec des vitesses de transfert impressionnantes.
Spécialement conçu pour les studios de montage vidéo professionnel, le graveur d2 Blu-ray permet d’enregistrer, de réenregistrer et de visionner des vidéos haute définition (HD). Les disques Blu-ray de 50 Go offrent la capacité d'environ 10 DVD simple couche, permettant aux professionnels d’utiliser un large choix de codecs afin d’optimiser la qualité de leur contenu vidéo. Autorisant jusqu’à huit canaux audio 192kHz/32 de flux de qualité audio, la technologie Blu-ray assure une très bonne qualité de son.
