NaviSite Brings Out NaviCloud Intelligent Storage

NaviSite, Inc., a Time Warner Cable company, introduced NaviCloud Intelligent Storage (NCIS) that enables enterprises to store, manage, and protect distributed, unstructured content with a flexible and scalable solution.
NCIS offers IT to manage, secure and reliable managed cloud storage solution that complements existing storage and retention requirements while also addressing several new business needs around mobility and on-demand storage.
NaviSite showcased the solution at Interop 2012 in Las Vegas.
According to the February 2012 Forrester Research, Inc. report Top Ten Storage Predictions for I&O Professionals by Vanessa Alvarez and Andrew Reichman, storage represented an average of 15% of the total IT budget in 2011 which means organizations will need to look at all their options before making huge investments in costly infrastructure. According to the report, in 2012,"Cloud storage becomes a viable enterprise option."

- NAS Extension: Archive existing file systems in a manner that allows for longer use of legacy systems.
