For the customer the process of sending and retrieving content to and from the archive looks just like moving it from one folder to another. The virtual machine at the customer premises provides secure encryption using keys which are not available to Arkivum, ensuring the security of the content.
Arkivum's service operates by storing client content in three different locations - two independent and geographically separate data centres and one offline, in escrow, all of which mirror each other, thus ensuring there can be no loss of information.
