Data protection specialist NovaStor Software AG adds a payment option for the licensing of its cloud backup platform NovaBACKUP xSP.

This new model reflects how numerous managed service providers charge for their own services, and provides them with a cost-effective entry into the cloud backup market. IT service providers need to pay a low monthly fee, which corresponds with actual usage, in order to license and operate their service. New licensing model reflects current pricing models of service providers and generates profitability for backup service providers in both the short and long term.

Managed backup services, cloud backup providers with online storage, mainly operate using monthly billing models. In such cases the amount of the fee is calculated according to the utilization of the service, or the storage that customers require for their data backups. Updates include support for new technologies such as virtualization, but also optimizations for speed in order to secure ever increasing backup volumes within short backup windows.
