Mellanox FDR 56Gb IB Silicon Adopted by Intel
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on Mon, June 18th, 2012
For S2600WP/S2600JF server boards and I/O expansion modules
Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced that its ConnectX-3 FDR InfiniBand adapter silicon has been selected by Intel Corp. for use in their I/O Expansion Modules and half-width server boards - Intel Server Board S2600WP and Server Board S2600JF - which optimize Intel's server platforms for high performance applications through improved compute density, performance and cost efficiency.
S2600JF and S2600WP server boards leverage ConnectX-3 FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand silicon, the fast IB solution, to deliver performance and application efficiency, and to reduce power consumption. Mellanox-based Intel I/O modules can be used to add single or dual-port FDR 56Gb/s IB connectivity to any server board.
"Intel's deployment of Mellanox InfiniBand silicon is a testament to the high performance and efficiency of our solutions," said David Barzilai, VP marketing at Mellanox. "Server and storage OEMs looking to roll out faster and more powerful systems will maximize their products’ potential with Mellanox InfiniBand solutions."
